  7.     Love will find a way, it seems, to cross the harshest racial
  8. barriers. WILLEM DE KLERK, the younger son of South African
  9. President F.W. de Klerk, is reportedly engaged to ERICA ADAMS,
  10. who is of both white and black ancestry and is thus designated
  11. under apartheid as colored. Five years ago, their romance would
  12. have been a disgrace and possibly even a crime in South Africa.
  13. The couple, both 24, met as fellow students and have been
  14. dating for more than a year, though President de Klerk says he
  15. learned of the relationship only recently. But, the President
  16. added, he regards it "as a private family matter."
